I was involved with CoH from early in the beta, and I’ve exchanged emails with the devs on more than one occasion. Maybe some higher up just wants to get sub numbers low enough so he can justify pulling the plug. They seriously are trying to completly remove the second good part of this game. The only two big reasons AFAIK people like the game was the character design and the combat. Still, the lost of perma-hasten will REALLY hurt… I don’t expect the loss of stamina to be that much of a problem, because everyone will “diversify” into endurance reduction. Then blasters would go to 4 dmg, 1 or 2 acc and maybe a recharge/end reduction) Maybe make it so that it’s only when you get to five SO’s you get it, instead of 3-4? Cap the number of enhancements in a power of a given type at 4? (That might be decent, actually. Honestly, though, I don’t know how they’ll change it. Why isn’t it done? Because 35% more damage on a damage attack is worth more than 35% range, because you’re usually in the thick of things anyway (for an example from a blaster). Right now, it’s completely possible to diversify your enhancements. I don’t think a game has managed to do that, yet, so Cryptic may be the first. I still have some trust remaining in Cryptic for them to realize that this is a completely unwanted change.
